Inspecting Loose 2-Piece Bathtubs: Ensuring Quality For New Homeowners in Ottawa

This is a VERY lovely bathtub you’ve received, I’m sure you’ve paid a hefty amount for this?! To move….

They have skipped the part not securing the tub & caulking around the tub on the floor, or securing the plumbing to the tub so it won’t move. Each home is always different. Your tub might be both problems or only 1 of these. Not to worry

The 2nd video will show you how easy this process is.

This video is how to properly secure the tub.

Unfortunately I’m not a genie with a magic ball, everything is loose. Meaning if you go in & out of the bathtub, this can loosen the drain or plumbing. You won’t know until the next morning when you go downstairs & the ceiling is dripping. This could happen in 2 years, 6 month, 3 weeks, tomorrow, in 5 minutes after I leave?!

The plumbing has to be removed, top section of tub removed, then the base has to be secure to the floor, the plumbing with drain have to be reinstalled, tightened & the base has to be caulked with silicone caulking to no longer move. It doesn’t pay to cut corners!

If you’re under warranty DO NOT touch! If this is in the report, the builder can only fix this.
