This sales person came to my home and sounded VERY convincing?!

When buying a new home, look at the landscape surrounding the home. For tall bushes, big trees or even small trees you’re going to let grow larger. If those are 15+ feet away from the home, you’ll be ok.

The main floor of a home is roughly 7-15 feet to get to the first level of gutters. Depending on your home, if its a 2 storey thats another 10+ feeding depending the height of the ceilings and attic. All together 25-30+ feet in total.

The growth rate of a tree varies by the quality of species, but under optimal conditions, many trees can grow around 1-2 feet in height and 1 inch in diameter per year. In stressful conditions like droughts, growth rates often decline due to water scarcity affecting nutrient uptake.

So if we calculate that, it will take roughly 12-15 years for the tree to grow to only tour main level. The growth always varies though.

You won’t need to purchase them for 15 years, if you buy them now chances are you’ll just have to replace them. Congrats you wasted your money. When installing gutter guards a piece is 4-5ft in length not 6 inches.

While gutter guards can be a valuable investment for many homeowners, there are a few downsides to them that include the need for periodic maintenance and cleaning, not eliminating all debris in your gutters, and the cost considerations.

In the spring & fall before the snow, clean them with a broom. I’ve had my gutter guards in for 8 years now and its only pine trees thats the issue, those pesky needles get caught in the gutter guard holes. Other than that, thats another check mark on jobs to maintain around your home.

My home is 2,496sqft, gutter guards cost $300-$400 and haven’t looked at them since.

Do they really work?

“Yes, they actually work really well to keep your rain gutters debris and pest free while keeping the water flowing through your system to drain as it should,”

What is the difference between a gutter guard and a leaf guard?

LeafGuard is an all-in-one gutter guard system, so it could be a good investment if you need to replace your gutters in addition to installing gutter guards. Its unique reverse-curve design promotes self-cleaning and could reduce the frequency of gutter cleaning.

The other “inspector”

With Bent Nails Inspections, I take aerial photos of your entire roof. Other “inspectors” so they claim, have a hard time with their poles or walking on your roof. I take less photos with more visibility.

I hope you’re ready to save time, $$$ & stress?!
